Description

Cassia ‘Pink Shower’ (Cassia grandis), commonly called the Pink Shower Tree, is a breathtaking ornamental tree native to Central and northern South America. Growing up to 15–20 meters tall, it features a broad, spreading canopy and produces a dazzling display of large, rose-pink flowers in pendulous clusters during spring and early summer, often before the new leaves emerge. These blooms attract bees and butterflies, adding ecological as well as visual value to the landscape. Its compound, feathery leaves add a soft texture, and its long, dark brown seed pods hang dramatically from the branches after flowering. The tree thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and is well-suited to tropical and subtropical climates. Though relatively drought-tolerant once established, it benefits from regular watering during dry periods. The Pink Shower Tree is ideal for gardens, streetscapes, and public parks, where it serves as a striking seasonal focal point thanks to its height, lush foliage, and vivid floral display.
