Description

Cassa Blue (Dianella caerulea ‘DBB03’) is a standout cultivar of the native Australian flax lily, valued for its compact size and vibrant, strappy blue-green leaves. Reaching about 30–40 cm in height and width, it forms neat, rounded clumps that bring structure and color to garden beds, borders, and landscape designs. In spring and early summer, it produces delicate star-shaped flowers in shades of blue to violet, followed by small, attractive blue berries that add ornamental interest. Cassa Blue is drought-tolerant once established, and thrives in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil. Unlike some Dianella varieties, it holds its form well without becoming messy, making it especially suited for low-maintenance gardens and urban settings. It’s a popular choice in both residential and commercial landscaping for its resilience, color contrast, and minimal upkeep needs.
