Description

Yellow Elderberry (Tecoma stans), also known as Yellow Bells, is a fast-growing, flowering shrub or small tree native to the Americas, particularly the southwestern United States, Mexico, and parts of Central America. It is known for its vibrant yellow trumpet-shaped flowers that bloom in clusters, creating a striking display in gardens, especially in warm climates. The plant can grow up to 10-15 feet (3-4.5 meters) tall, with dark green, glossy leaves and a bushy, spreading habit.

Yellow Elderberry thrives in full sun and well-draining soil, making it ideal for landscapes in tropical and subtropical regions. It is drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance. The plant also attracts pollinators, including hummingbirds and bees, due to its abundant, nectar-rich flowers. While it is generally hardy and low-maintenance, occasional pruning may be needed to maintain its shape and encourage continued blooming throughout the growing season.
