Description

Clerodendrum ‘Shrubbing Fireworks’ (Clerodendrum quadriloculare), also known as the Starburst Bush, is a tropical flowering shrub prized for both its ornamental flowers and colorful foliage. Native to the Philippines and surrounding regions, this plant grows quickly and can reach heights of 10 to 15 feet if left unpruned. Its leaves are dark green on top and a deep purple underneath, offering year-round visual interest. In late winter to early spring, it produces spectacular bursts of long, tubular pink and white flowers that resemble fireworks, attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies. While it’s a favorite in warm-climate landscapes, it can become invasive in some areas due to its vigorous suckering habit. Gardeners often manage its spread by regular pruning or planting it in contained spaces. With proper care and control, Clerodendrum quadriloculare adds a tropical flair and vibrant seasonal color to gardens and landscapes.
