Description

The Bromeliad “Large Burgundy” is a striking tropical plant from the Bromeliaceae family, known for its bold, deep burgundy-colored foliage that forms a rosette shape. This variety is prized for its dramatic color and architectural form, making it a standout in both indoor and outdoor tropical or subtropical gardens. It typically grows low to the ground, spreading out rather than upward, and stores water in its central cup-like structure.

Bromeliads prefer bright, indirect light or filtered sun and thrive in well-drained soil or mounted on trees in humid environments. They are low-maintenance and drought-tolerant, requiring only occasional watering, especially in the central cup. While they may produce a flower spike once in their life, their colorful leaves are the main attraction. After flowering, the plant will eventually die back but produces “pups” or offsets that can be replanted. The “Large Burgundy” bromeliad is perfect for adding rich color and texture to landscapes, containers, or interior plant displays.
