Description
Agave ‘Mexican’ (Agave horrida) is a striking, slow-growing succulent known for its compact size and unique, spiny appearance. Native to Mexico, this species features thick, fleshy, blue-gray leaves with sharp, curved spines along the edges and a sharp terminal spine at the tip. Unlike larger agaves, Agave horrida stays relatively small, usually reaching about 1 to 2 feet (30–60 cm) in height and width. It thrives in full sun, well-draining soil, and is highly drought-tolerant. Ideal for xeriscaping and container planting, it requires minimal maintenance, needing only occasional watering during dry spells. Its dramatic look makes it a popular choice for desert or rock gardens.
